Noosa Residents & Ratepayers Get Opportunity to

Learn About Council Services

Cr Russell Green will be guest speaker at a community forum to discuss the diverse services provided by Council.  Organised by the Noosa Residents and Ratepayers Association, the meeting will give ratepayers a chance to discover more about where their rates dollars go and how to communicate effectively with Council.

Acting NRRA President, Tony Haslam suggests “for the group and the community to be successful in advocacy for the retention of Noosa values and value for money for our rates, we need to have a continuing dialogue with our Councillors and a better understanding of what Council is doing on our behalf.”

NRRA is keen to support small local groups and individuals to become more effective in their dealings with Council and this forum aims to provide them with the opportunity to get a better understanding of both the range and diversity of programs Council is implementing and how best to approach Council on issues of importance to them.

This is the last in a series of forums organised by NRRA as part of the group’s Council funded ‘Community Aware’ project, following on from the successful Disaster Preparedness forum in Tewantin.

All interested residents and ratepayers are invited to meet Cr Green and participate in the forum to be held:

Tuesday, May 31st  5:45pm

Good Shepherd Lutheran College

115 Eumundi Rd, Noosaville.

Request for Photos of Mayor Bob Abbot in Action in the Community

As part of the tribute to Bob for his many years of community commitment, we would like to compile a respectful presentation of photos showing him at any of the many and diverse public engagements and informal occasions including musical sessions!

Few people might realise the scope of Bob’s work and the kilometres he has had to travel, taking away from family and leisure time, in order to show his support for and to participate in so many community and official ventures and meetings spread across the Sunshine Coast region.

These photos will be put on a CD and shown after the AGM and will be presented to Bob in appreciation of his tireless contribution to the community.

Please email your photos to: info@noosaratepayers.org.au.  If you have hard copy photos, please record details of the event shown and your personal details so that we can return them if required.  Please then send these to NRRA PO Box 94, Noosa Heads.

Don’t forget to attend the “Audience with Mayor Bob Abbot” on September 29th (see above).
