NSRRA Constitution

After many years (established in 1981!) NSRRA Inc. is updating its constitution in line with the most up-to-date version of the Office of Fair Trading Model Rules. Basically, we have adopted all of the recommended Model Rules and inserted the appropriate Objects and Classes of Membership that relate our organisation.

The NSRRA Objects inserted in the Model Rules are as follows:

The object of the Association is to exist for the benefit of residents of Noosa Shire taking action on any matters that affect them including, but not limited to:

(1)         acting as an advocate for them at local, state, and federal levels;

(2)         lodging submissions, correspondence and petitions and participating in meetings, forums and reference groups;

(3)         providing information to the community via newsletters, media releases, social media, the Association’s website and any other form of communication; and

(4)         advocating to protect the amenity of the built environment of Noosa Shire; for the protection of the natural environment; and for sustainable and ecologically sound development within Noosa Shire.

The Membership Classes are:

(1)         The membership of the Association consists of ordinary members aged 18 years and  older, whose principal place of residence is in Noosa Shire, and the following class of member:- 

(a)          life member (no more than one to be appointed per year).

(2)         The number of ordinary members is limited to the number of residents of the Noosa   Shire aged 18 years and older.
